I have a factory service manual but cannot figure out how to adjust the upper trim limit. I raised the engine a few holes and would like to at least raise the trim limit so the lock lever can be engaged.

If I am remembering correctly the adjustment is on the starboard side of the hinge there is a tab that you move to allow a wider range of motion
and if you are thinking of using that lock lever on the starboard side to trailer your boat with the engine up.. don't .. it is not meant for that purpose..
if that was your intent, let me know and I can explain another way to do that.

trim adjustment
I have not seen an adjustment screw on the engine to adjust trim but ill look again. The reason for adjustment is because I recently moved a couple of bolt holes up and have more room now, I notice that while am docked I cannot get my lower unit all the way out of the water like the other boats. I only want to use the lock just in case i ever did any work to the trim. What do you suggest as far as trailering? M-ywedge??

on my engine it is not a screw.. there is a little tab on the starboard side on the hinge,, don't have a picture of it.. but when you look close you will see the difference between the port and starboard side..
for trailering.. when the engine is tilted up position.. it exposes two 1/2 - 3/4 inch push rods for the trim adjustment as the engine is lowered
I made from a 2 X 3 inch block of cedar .. guessing about 4 or 5 inches long
drilled a hole in the center the size of the push rod for the trim
make it just long enough to be able to slide over the rod with engine tilted up
two things.. on starboard side there is a feeler for the trim sensor you want to miss as the engine is lowered .. and don't put it on the Port side push rod.. there is a grease fitting on the drive shaft you don't want it resting on..
just lower the engine down to rest on the cedar block and it takes the pressure off and supports the engine and keeps it from bouncing as you drive..
good luck

trim
I am wondering if anyone on this forum has a owners manual that could scan the pages that list the instructions on how to change upper limit? My service manual does not have adjustment instructions and I tried looking at the trim hings myself but have no clue as to proper procedure.

You are correct the manual is not much help on the adjustment
However the lever is in the center behind the hydraulic steering assembly
I think when I made an adjustment just move it up or down a click and can tell where it needs to be placedAttached Files

Look at the pictures in post #6 of this thread, http://www.suzukioutboardforum.com/s...k-upright.html and read what I wrote there. They might better explain the location of your adjustment cam. If you still have trouble, say so, and I will take pictures in tomorrow's daylight and post them. In the photo, moving the tab down from the position that it's in (in direction of red arrow) would increase the travel (raise the up limit). Moving the tab up (in the direction of the green arrow) would lessen the travel, or stop the tilt sooner.Last edited by Harper; 03-23-2016, 09:54 PM.Mike

Thanks for the pictures! I'll take a look tonight to see if I can find this cam. I found some instructions online from a df90, but that one looks like the trim adjustment is done from a combination of key, kill switch, throttle, trim button functions...

It's best seen with it trimmed all the way down. It's situated on the horizontal shaft that the motor pivots on when being tilted, almost centered between the two tilt brackets......behind and somewhat hidden by the hydraulic steering cylinder.
Here's another picture, just taken.....Attached FilesLast edited by Harper; 03-25-2016, 10:24 AM.Mike
