I have a used 2.5 four stroke thats new to me. Not sure of the year, 2004? Anyway, I went to start it in a barrel after its been laying, correctly on its side,for six months and noticed the oil level in the sight glass was bellow the red dot. So I put 10-40 oil in it to just above the dot. Started it after a few pulls and it appears all oil went away from sight glass. Turned it off and oil did not appear to collect at the sight glass very quickly, I could not leave in in the vertical position overnight so, that's why I'm asking you, when do you look at the sight glass for reference to determine oil level? Also, I notices some oil leaking down by the prop area, during storage, not sure from where...any ideas?
