Help! dropped cotter pin in lower unit gear shaft.

while taking off my prop I dropped the cotter pin gear housing? What should I do ? Will it flush out?


2018 200hp 4 stroke.

I wouldn't think there's any problem. The only place it could have ended up is only exhaust and water exit. It can't get in the gears of move upward toward the powerhead. Tilt/trim it all the way down, put some muffs on it and crank 'er up, It'll likely flush out pretty quick.

PS meant to also say to leave the prop off, as it will only impede the pin's exit.
