DT65 lower unit bolt length?

Hi there, wondered if you good people could help? I recently acquired a early 80s Dt 65 off a friend who has given up on it as the bolts to the lower unit were all broken. Our local marina had managed to get the lower unit off and all but 1 bolt out and screwed the thread on the last. I have got the remaining bolt out and ordered a heli repair kit for the knackered one.
My question is, what is the size of the bolts. Look m8 but how long are they as it didn't come with any? Apparently the engine and gearbox are sound, so I want to get it together so I can try and start her up!

Thank you for the info. I got hold of a depth gauge in the end and ordered some M8 x 55mm and one at 140mm in stainless.
