  • drive shaft seals in engine holder

2002 df 90 Suzuki, Does the 2 small drive shaft seals in the engine holder go in with the spring up or down. Mine were down and the top one had the spring up. Manual says to install with spring up, don't know if they were talking about the top one or all three. Thanks

    The ones under bearing

Two under drive shaft bearing, one faces down and the other faces up. Then bearing and then last seal, lip up (or spring up).
When you pop out the bearing you will see that. You have to unbolt and drop the oil pan to access removing bearing and x2 seals.

      engine holder seals

Briscoe, I am talking about the 3 seals under the counter shaft bearing in the engine holder, 2 are the same size that go in first, and then one that's bigger, and then the counter shaft bearing. The 2 small ones were installed with the lip down, and the bigger 1 the lip was up. I was just checking to make sure this was correct before I install the new seals. I just got the motor a while back.

        Correct, sorry

Yes. My bad. There is the large seal that u tap into engine holder, then the other two seals going on top. Spring down and then spring up. Then u tap in the bearing that the crank shaft sits on. Make sure you put permatex 2 gasket sealer on both sides of metal gasket when you close up.
DID YOU LOOK AT LINKAGE COVER PLATE? There is a cover plate that had corrosion on mine and was the cause of my oil leak when i tilted up out of the water.
