The newest Suzukis have a way of changing the rotation, but i think on the older ones, you'd have to replace the entire gear set in the lower unit.

Pretty sure that the selective rotation system is only available on the V6 250/300 motors. If it is available on your 150 it will say so in the owners manual.

If it is not, which i think is very likely, then you will have to replace the entire lower unit and get a new prop.

Why do you want to change the rotation? Do not believe those who say a LH motor is any different in performance or fuel economy than a RH motor, they aren't!

the motor work fine with a left prop , but the problem is that i want to do some test with other prop size , but it's very difficult to find some L prop ..

The Right prop which are very common are much more easier to find for tests

Yes, the RH props are easier to obtain, but heck! Replacing the entire lower unit is a very, very expensive exercise just to help you choose a good prop!

The best thing to do might be to run a comprehensive prop test on your existing prop and record the details of how it performs at every 500rpm interval (see my sticky thread about how to select the right prop), and then send that info plus details of your boat and what are the performance issues you want to solve, with a request for help through to someone like Ken at "The Prop Gods".

This information will make it much easier for an expert like Ken to advise you on a prop that will be suitable for your boat/motor combination and your intended use, and one that will solve whatever issues you are not happy about at the moment.

You could then source a LH prop of the recommended model locally, or even buy from Ken in the US with a good degree of certainty that it will do the job for you. That plan would be a lot less expensive than a new lower plus a new prop.

                Thanks Moonlighter

I'll keep your message and follow your recomendations above

In Aussie, that would be "crikey", if we were in polite company!

Correct me if I am wrong but left hand / right hand is that not determined by engine rotation?

Yes, correct Art, in the sense that gearbox rotation determines prop direction.

But Suzuki has released a fairly innovative solution on the larger HP engines a year or two ago that they call "selective rotation". The direction that the gearbox turns can be changed from clockwise to counterclockwise very simply by the dealer simply changing a couple of settings and fitting the appropriate L or RH prop.

So with these SR engines, no need to change the entire lower unit any more!

                          Here is some info:
