Any new way of getting the rusted plug out of block .?

I was not able to unscrew mine (2005) so I drilled through it with a 1/2" bit which leaves all the threads plus some meat. I then used a hacksaw blade in a vise grips to saw toward the threads in three places. The idea was to allow the remainder to shrink enough to turn it out. I used a large nail set and hammer to back the remainder out with no damage to the threads.

I did exactly the same think nelbur did and it took me about an hour to (very carefully) remove the plug. Works well if you are careful!
