  • 2004 Df200 Buzzer System Check, won’t crank

So I’m at my wits end. The motor had been working fine up until this past weekend. I was out fishing and using my trolling motor (completely different set of isolated batteries). Went to start my DF200 and the system check buzzer came on, but it was sustained. It was maybe about 1 second long followed by a beep. Went to crank the motor and nothing. Got under the console and back where the starting batteries are and jiggled some wires and I was able to get it to crank. Got home fine (though still had the same issue a couple other times). Went to see what I could do this evening and I’m still getting the same 1 second buzzer followed by a beef. All 3 lights come on on the tach.

Anyone have any ideas where to start? Fuses look fine battery connections are fine. I recall juggling the binnacle to make sure it was in neutral but unsure if that did anything to help.

    Thanks for any information y’all

read the sticky “white wire “.
sounds like you have a connection going out
find the connection off the battery switch the feeds the white wire

have you had any of the other electronics at the dash just stop working?

Had previously tracked down the white wire and made a repair on it as I was having similar issues because of it. Was really hoping it wasn’t that wire again. The only things that are working intermittently when key is in on position is the fuel pump and the trim tilt at the binnacle.

Unfortunately it does sound like that blasted white wire again...

I appreciate the response, any other ideas?

        recheck the wire connectors
intermittent power is a broken connection someplace in getting power to the ignition
is there any possibility the key switch is bad?
I say that with the exception the tilt/trim works regardless of the key position
are your butt end connectors the waterproof style?
check the inline white wire fuse
I think I remember one owner had a corrosion problem in that fuse
        good luck and post back

I've seen once or twice where the neutral safety switch just completely shuts down and won't let motor crank. Usually happens slowly and can jiggle and get it fire quite a few times and still use the boat until you can replace the switch. Not likely but just a shot in the dark might try
