Df250 oil in exhaust

So I was changing my gear oil in my 2010 df25. Gear oil was fine. But I did notice a little drip of whipped oil coming out of my exhaust holes in the gearcase next to the water intake screen. Also saw a bit on the top of cavitation plate in the front of the motor when I tilted it back up. Any ideas what's causing this to happen? Thanks

Tell u what i had

I have an 07 DF140, that began leaking a small amount of oil on the outside of my pivot shaft, especially when i tilted it up. Just a drip or two that turned into a few drips on drive way after trips.
Underneath the power head, inside the engine holder is an aluminum cover plate. This plate covers the shift linkage and is exposed to a small amount of water, but i guess is not well anode protected. I did not know what was going on until i decided to pull the power head off and look. I thought it was a shaft seal or something. Pulling the power head exposed the plate in this pic. It corroded a small area that was allowiing oil drip. The corrosion had not eaten through enough to really pour oil out but it would have. Above this plate and under power head is the timing chain.

Not as big as u think

Yes and no on the size of the job. If u have a manual it shows a few of the details. However, the manual does not tell u that u only need to lift up and hold the power head, not disassemble it. It's a one day job. Not too big to tackle if you're a descent shade tree mechanic. I had an engine lift from harbor freight i used to hold power head. I would not want to know cost if dealer did work.

Oil Leak

Before you start lifting engines off I would first try and determine if its engine oil or gear box oil, a simple way would be to monitor your oil levels

I would never lift up the power head except the leak had to be a seal. Or so i thought. When i lifted the power head it exposed the engine holder and small plate that covers linkage. It had the corroded hole.
Here is the exploded view from a manual. You have to do what you have to do. Part number 18.
