  • Milky oil-water in cylinder

Have an 07 df 225. Found milky oil in the dipstick. Also have water in the bottom port side cylinder. When I pull the bottom port spark plug and hook up the hose, water pours out the spark plug hole. Obviously it's something pretty catastrophic. Anyone ever had anything similar?

That's indeed not good. Probably a blown head gasket. If that's it then it can be fixed without exceeding the remaining value of the engine. But it's hard to say what else is wrong without dismantling..

I assumed head gasket, but it's a lot of water. And where is the water going, out the exhaust?

Out of the exhaust, into the crank case, that's why you see milky oil. In rare cases it can show up in other parts but those two are the most important

Thank you. I know I just need to tear in apart. I was just surprised how much water is coming out of the cylinder yet my oil level didn't really go up.

Oil can slip between the rings to the crank case. Oil and not much water mixed looks like a white slurry. Are you capable to tear it apart and see what is wrong? Otherwise bring it to a good mechanic. This is not a peace of cake job

on the 150's and 175's seen the same thing, but one little milk spot isn't that catastrophic but definitely need to shut down for now and drain the oil and see how much water, I've heard of either head gasket or bottom of the block gasket failures..., keep us posted

It seems to be a bit more than one little milk spot - he said with the spark plug out, and water connected (presumably to the flush port), water is gushing out the spark plug hole.

I dont think we can say any more - and speculating gains us nothing. At the least the top end needs to be pulled down for further investigation, then the extent of the problem will likely be revealed.

To the OP - if you search this board and others, you will find the occasional case of something similar. Dont lose sight of the fact that its now an 11 year old motor. Not sure if you have owned it since new, if not, you never know how well the PO maintained it.

I doubt this kind of thing is any more prevalent with the Suzuki than with any other manufacturer. Its certainly not a “”””oh yeah happens all the time with that model””” kind of” situation.

If you have enough water to fill the cylinder and pour out,I would say It's a little more than a head gasket. First thing i would do is pull that head off

That is the exhaust cover and the hole on the left the place where the anode is sitting.
