Repowered with 300DFs, used Grander Marine in Orange Beach, Alabama. Boat is a heavy old Proline 2950. Replacing 2007 300 Zukes that had been troublesome. We put 5 hours on her this weekend. After the slow first hour break in we've been following the recommended break-in schedule. Got to run WOT a couple of times (recommended for short bursts only -- less than 5 min) and she hits 50mph at 6000 rpm. Right in the sweet spot. Fuel burn at WOT is .91 mpg. Cruise at 4500 rpm hits 35 and burns 1.6 mpg. Slow cruise at 4250 is 30 mph and burns about the same at 1.6 to 1.8 mpg. Back to the shop for a couple of fixes (trim tabs don't, and engine tilt needs adjustment) but very happy with these engines at this point. Grander marine in OB did the work, good folks to deal with.
