2012 DF50A Tappet Holder part #?

The Service Manual for my 2012 DF50A lists a tappet holder, part # 09916-68810.

Apparently that has been superseded by a new part, but according to where I hunt on the web, I find a couple different new #'s, so I am confused.

I think the current tappet holder part # is 09916-67010. Will this work on my '12 DF50A? What other Suzuki motors, if any, will it work on?

After two seasons and 480 hrs, I have three exhaust valves that are just .001 to .002 out of spec and I'd like to work on them over the winter. Even though it is expensive, I don't mind paying for the part because buying it is still less expensive than having my local marina do a valve job. And then I'll have it for the next valve adjustment too. I just want to make certain I get the right tappet holder.

Well, now #09916-67010 is superseded by #09916-67011. Not sure what motors it is used on.

But are you sure that the #09916-68810 is correct? I don't find any reference to that part number anywhere, whether superseded or not.

I crossed it out in my manual, but you can still read it.

How do I find out what motors 09916-67010 (or 67011) work on?

Not sure where to find which tools apply to what engine. I've not been able to find that info except in the service manual. I've also seen misprints in the manuals, which leads me to believe that it might be the case here with your service manual. It is very strange not to find any reference to the number in your manual whatsoever. Usually all the superseded numbers can be found all over the internet. The illustration in your manual of 09916-68810 looks exactly like part #09916-69310 tappet holder for my DF150 (and the -69310 is less than half the price of the -67011). I've seen no illustrations of the other two tappet holders (-67010 or -67011) that we've referenced.

Yeah--I may just go to the dealer and see what their parts dept. can find for the latest tappet holder to work on a DF50A. I'll try and determine if the 09916-6710 or 6711 will definitely work before I order over the internet. It'll be after the holiday, but I'll post here what I find out.

Well, just browsing the net, I HAVE found one reference to the -68810, along with illustration, It's in a pdf version of the service manual for the Suzuki GF60A, on pg 25, list and illustrations of the special tools. I'm not even sure what the GF60A is. The only motor referred to in the body of the manual are DF60AT and DF60ATH. Strange.......


edit.....just looked at the manual cover in the pdf format and it says DF60A, so that GF60A is a misprinted link to the pdf.
