  • Question on Suzuki DT115

I'm still trying to working on issue with my 1984 Suzuki DT115, that I bought this summer. I have two ectrical issues 1) my tach doesn't work and 2) The boat doesn't charge the battery. I came across two 20 amp fuses on the motor. The one I circled in red was burned out. Doesn't anyone know what these two fuses control? I know I've seen people say there is a yellow wire that goes to the Tach, but I don't see any yellow wires on this motor.

It looks like the one I circled in Blue goes to the red battery cable, but I really can't tell where the one I circled in red goes to. My parts manual is no help.

    Any help is much appreciated.

Sorry no one has replied to your question
And i am not familiar with this model
Did you get a service manual for your engine? The parts book is not going to help
The service manual will give you a wiring schematic

Yes, I have a manual, but the wiring diagram might as well be in a foreign lanuage. I've read about people talking about the fuse to the starter and that's the only one I see on this wiring diagram. One Fuse has a little plastic bag holding an extra fuse, so I awesome that is the one to the starter...since it works?

Sorry about the poor pictures I couldn't figure out how to post a PDF, so I had to use my cell phone.

PDF's should be in the "attach files" below much like your photos
can't quite read the smaller print
above the Neutral switch on the left side is a fuse,, maybe a 10A
the parts page itself is showing a 20a on a wire lead but noyt showing where it terminates
is there anyway of following the wire leads? the one on the drawing you pointed out is probably the one on the starter circuit.
on the engine photo what is behind the black box? and take a photo of the one to the upper right that has the silver edge and a schematic printed on the back of it..

Just a follow-up in case someone else runs into the same problemz. The Red cirlce fuse solved both of my electric problems. My RPM gauge now works and it is also charging the battery.

Took the boat out this morning and it ran great at 36 degree's outside.

            Quite an old thread here?
I believe the second fuse is on the charging/tach/rectifier circuit. Probably why it's working since replacing the burned-out fuse. Makes sense to me.

            Good luck.
