New here, hope this has not been covered ( I did have a quick look) I've been given a DF70 - was seized - I have it apart now - block opened etc. I can not find an exact cause of the seizure - nothin broken or melted, although the #3 piston took some work to free - lots of carbon.
So, i'm wondering why it seized with no obvious cause , and I certainly don't want to rebuild it without covering the bases, Have not pulled the lower unit yet, so may find the water pump is pooched.
That said, the oil pump is very hard to turn by hand ( twisting the little tab that goes into the end of the cam) should it be that hard to move? I can twist it, but it takes a lot of effort... Just curious..
any help appreciated.
