DT 85 no power to forward controls

Hi all recently purchased a doer upper.
i have a 1985 DT 85 it has power to the trim and starter stright off the solernoids but nothing works on the forward controls.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Check the power lead for the battery to ignition key
There is a white power lead this also has a inline fuse
Depending on where this power wire terminates you may or may not have power to the dash gauges
I would suggest replacing any splices in this wire

I should also ask does the engine start with the key?
Only a guess but probably not

thanks art and wont start off the key, choke wont engage and not from trim and tilt
