I bought a boat that had a dt150 and upgraded to 2007 df150. I had a dealer do the swap. He kept the dt150 harness, and told me he put an adapter on it to make it work with the df150. I found a 2008 df250 with harness, and lcd gauges. If I use the new gauges, will I have to swap the harnesses out? Or can I install them with the old dt150 harness( motor and boat is 2001)?

I am quite dubious about a harness that is for a DT 2 stroke working satisfactorily with a DF series engine. One of my concerns would be whether the engine alarm system would work properly, and another is whether the fault codes would show up on the tacho like they should.
What gauges are you using now? To get the fault codes (very useful for finding what's wrong before really bad things happen inside the engine) you need the Suzuki tacho with the warning lights along the bottom. So what do you currently have?
Secondly, can you verify that the Suzuki gauges from the 250 you are looking to use are the Suzuki SMIS displays (they look the same as a Lowrance LMF400 except with a Suzuki badge) so if you're not sure Google the Lowrance and you'll see if it's the same or not.
If they are the SMIS displays, then they do not work via the engine harness on your engine year (it's too early) regardless of which version it is.
To use these gauges, you will need to create a simple NMEA2000 network, buy a Suzuki engine interface cable and an adapter cable to connect it to the SDS diagnostic plug on the engine.
Please see my "sticky" thread at the top of the forum page, go to the first post there and read the resource paper I've provided there, that will help you understand what is involved.

I decided to pull the old harness and controls and put the new ones in. The 150 had a single tach gauge. When I pulled the old harness, it had an adapter part that plugged into the 2001 dt150 harness(round plug) and had the rectangular(df150) end to plug into the 2007 df150. As far as the motor running, it ran fine. Thanks
