I have a 2000 df70tly 4 stroke suzuki outboard. I believe my RECTIFIER & REGULATOR might be having some issues. Is there an easy way to check it with a multimeter? Also, if I crank the motor & read the voltage across the battery shouldn't it be aprox 14vdc or higher if the regulator is working properly? I also tried reading the rectifier using my multimeter (with the motor off)....I unplugged the cable going to the rectifier & took readings on each lead they all appear to read the same using the diode selection on my multimeter. Perhaps I have an intermittent problem or a leaky diode in the rectifier? Is there any other test you recommend?

Voltage regulator
There are three yellow wires that plug in to regulator rectifier they put out ac voltage. Check these you will need a meter that can hold peak voltage or watch very quickly when someone starts engine one at a time. If you need regulator rectifier I can order it at a great price. Power Cats of Miami
