Tappet adjustment

Does anyone know if there are any tappet shim kits available for a DF175 or is it a case of having to buy individual shims as required?

You can buy a whole kit, but it will cost you several thousand. That's because the kits are made for dealers, who expect to use the shims for servicing hundreds of motors, and have hundreds of shims in the box ... shims of every size.

I know why you ask. If you're like me, you'll end up opening your engine twice, once to measure and determine what's needed, then once again after receiving the shims that you order. When you only have one motor to maintain, that's the way it is.

Would suggest having the repair manual in hand when you go through this exercise
Also if you have not looked yet there is a special tool needed
If you are in good with a mechanic you might get lucky and get a loner
They want a pretty price for one
