  • Suzuki Marine Grease in Zerks?

Twin DF175s here with the usual grease zero fittings. Service manual calls for Suzuki Marine Grease which only comes in squeeze tube? What do you guys use to apply grease through the grease zero fittings on the motor?

A grease gun is required. Most auto parts shops have them, also hardware. Load them with a good quality marine grease and attach to the zerks (we are not bashful, they are called grease nipples here in Australia!) and pump until some clean grease pushes out from the bushings. Wipe excess free off, done!

I think what the OP is asking is if there is a genuine Suzuki marine grease available in any form other than the large squeeze tube, specifically a grease gun cartridge......

And the answer is no. You can purchase just about any other brand in a cartridge for use in a grease gun, but not the Suzuki brand grease. I personally use Amsoil synthetic marine grease (along with every other Amsoil marine product) on my DF150, but there are many others out there, and they're available at most marine dealers and places like West Marine.

If you feel it necessary to use the Suzuki brand, then you can always squeeze the grease into a grease gun to fill as you would with any bulk grease. Don't worry about using only Suzuki brand lube products. Other brands are just as good or better, and they can't void your warranty for using other brands that meet their specs.

Thanks guys. Mike, you answered my question. I'll just grab a quality saltwater resistant marine grease like Yamalube in a cartridge and go at it.
