  • choke not working/no fuel flow

    Have a DF70 hp Suzuki out board/ serial 07001f-861464

choke is not working, will only run while spraying either- not getting fuel to run
What do I do to repair this?

The DF70 is a fuel injected motor, it doesn't have a choke!

If the engine will not start or idle, there could be many possible causes. If you can get it started, will it run under power, or not at all? Was this something that suddenly happened, or has started a while ago and gotten worse?

There are too many possibilities to list, unless you tell us more information about what is happening.

I suspect we have a language difference, so try your best to set out the symptoms, tell us as much as you can about what the engine is doing, and what checks/testing you have already done, and someone here will try to help you.

The motor will start with either only- but will not continue to run without it.
The motor has not been started in at least 2 years, the old gas was still in motor when I bought it. I have checked the injectors and there is power going in and out. How do I check fuel pressure for injectors?
I have cleaned out all fuel lines and removed all old gas. And added gas stableizer. Plus new spark plugs. What else can I do to try to get it going?

Guessing you'll have to flush some new fuel through the VST, our you might have to clean it out.

Do you have a service manual for your motor?

Good luck. Post back when able.

I dont have a manual for this motor, and I have not worked on this type of motor before. Where can I get a manual for it and what is the VST?

The vst (vapor separator tank) is where fuel is pumped by low pressure fuel pump, which supplies fuel to the high pressure pump, to provide fuel to the fuel rail for the injectors. The unused fuel returns back to the vst to release pressure and be recycled back to the high pressure pump again.

before you start doing anything else, get the Suzuki service manual for your motor. You can order above ”purchase Suzuki parts” (shown in red above -boats.net), our any local Suzuki dealer parts store in your area.

If you are not comfortable working on your motor to clean this fuel system, take it to a Suzuki repair shop.

            Good luck.
