Good afternoon all,
I purchased a used 2011 DF2.5 in (what I thought was) great condition. It was for a low price, so I drained the carb of oil (it was put over on the wrong side), I replaced the engine and gear oil, etc. . . All this to say that the motor was running properly.
I've used the motor three times, almost always at full throttle, and have run 4 tanks of fuel through the engine. The prop has had a lot of weeds wrapped around it at times as a result of the weedy lake and the hunting area I need to access. Once the motor starts laboring because of the weeds, I stop to remove the weeds and continue.
After a recent use, I set the motor on the correct side in the truck cab, and left it there for 3 days. When I pulled it out of the truck today and held it upright, oil came out of the water intake holes on the lower leg. The oil didn't appear to have any water in it. If I had to guess I'd say that it was a teaspoon or two of oil.
Does anybody know where I should start looking for issues? I can do basic mechanical stuff, so I hope this isn't a big issue.
Thank you all in advance...it truly is appreciated!
