  • Stiff Remote Control

My 2008 DF115 sat for 3 years. Greased all fittings at the motor but the throttle seems like its hanging up when throttling down. Should I be greasing inside the remote shifter? Kind of nervous to take it appart

Generally if your cables (throttle & shift) are free, it is probably related to stiff linkages at motor. You can tell this by disconnecting the cables at the motor (simple plastic clips), and trying your controls (make sure they are free to move fully, in and out). If they move easily/freely, then check the moving linkages on the motor by hand to see which are stiff, and needing lubricating.
If your control cables are the problem, then your best bet is to get a new set of cables. Trying to lubricate cables doesn't work very well.

The control boxes do not normally need to be lubricated. Though it is not impossible for the controls to be the fault.

Good luck, post back what you find.
