My 1988 DT140 seems to be charging over 15 volts at normal running rpm. What is the normal charging voltage? It seems that it use to charge around 13 volts or so.

Charging Voltage
A 12v battery needs about 13.8v to merely avoid self discharge, so you need much more than that to replace the charge lost during starting or running accessories. The voltmeter on my boat reads 15v when running with a DF140.
I would have said around 14.4 to 14.8, as you usually get in a car, so that dinky voltmeter is in the right ballpark. Look for 14.5 to 15 volts.
