  • Df140 won't turn over

Scenario....left dock and was cruising around 4500-4800 rpms. Motor revved up for maybe 2 seconds and suddenly died. I raised the motor to make sure I didn't hit anything....nothing. Lowered motor and tried to restart....nothing. Wouldn't even turn over. Made sure it was in neutral and still nothing. Tried to limp back to dock on trolling motor but batteries died. I took the motor battery and placed it on the TM with no better results. Put the motor battery back in place and decided to try to restart and it fired right up. I slowly returned to the dock since I had my family on board. Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions/ comments? Thanks in advance for your help It is a 2008

Sounds like an iffy connection to the white wire terminal in the engine harness. That white wire sends power to the ECM, and if it doesn't have a good connection, it will die like you described. You moving the batteries around probably restored the connection.
