DF200A and C10 Gauge Fuel Flow Monitoring

We purchased a 2015 DF200A and a new C10 color gauge for a 23.5 Sea Pro CC repower back in March. The outboard came in before the gauge so we ran for a few months with one of the older tacs. When it came in, my dealer installed the C10 and it is sweet. Well, with one exception.

The C10 displays everything as expected (tilt/trim, RPM, temp, etc.) with the exception of fuel flow rate which of course screws up tracking fuel tank status. For example, the gauge is showing 10.4 GPH at idle, 53 GPH at 1900 RPM and 39 GPH at 4800 RPM. All over the place.

It's been reset to factor settings and reconfigured twice with the same problem returning. My dealer (good friend) is stumped and it would be most gratifying if I could tell him how to correct the problem. Any ideas? Anyone seen this with a DF200A/C10 configuration?

Hi Jim and welcome to the forum.

The new c10 gauges have been out only a short time as you know so not many people have much experience with them.

If you get onto The Hull Truth, Mike from International Marine is probably most up to speed.

However, it's likely that your problem is the Suzuki engine interface software. We see this problem quite a lot, regardless of the display that the engine data is on, when the interface is not running the correct software for the engine year. We see this quote a lot with re powers where an older Suzuki that was running the SMIS gauges changes to a new 2015 model, but neglect to update the engine interface SW to the latest version that is compatible with the 2015 engines. That may well have happened with your re power.

Have your dealer check which software your engine interface is running, it should be running the latest version 2.9. He can update if if its not on the latest version, and that should solve the problem.

You may also be able to check the interface software on the C10. I'm not familiar with it, but if you go into the network menu, find the network device list, and select the Suzuki device, it may show up there. Be careful, though, you don't want to confuse the interface SW with the C10's software version.

The other option is that if you find the interface is running an earlier SW version, you can download V 2.9 and copy to an SD card reader and I believe you can then load it via the SD port in the C10. If you go to the top of this forum in the "sticky" section you will see my thread re Suzuki NMEA2000 networks, I've put a link in there to the V2.9 update file.
