  • Has anyone bought a motor from Boats.net??

Has anyone bought a Suzuki motor from boats.net? The prices seem too good to be true, and was wondering what the catch is? I figure the price obviously doesn't come with controls and rigging. I do all my own work. Can I rig it myself and still maintain the warranty?
    Thanks!

Not bad ....but if you're looking to do this online, you can beat that .. the one you link to is a short shaft (that's the one you're after?)

    Here's one, a 25" shaft Suzuki DF175TXZ Outboard Motors Sale Four Stroke 2014 2015

Those prices are even more to good too be true! Whats the catch there? It even said "free shipping"...hmmm.

Ok I did some research. The consensus is the company is a scam.

        Mike,
That "ho"sale outboard company was discussed on THT a few years ago, surprised they are still around. Wire transfer them your money and then wait for the engine to arrive. Last time I heard no-one has received their engine yet.

I am also interested in boats.net. Don't need an engine, but interested in how it works, can you have them to install the engine? I know it has to be installed by a certified dealer. Edsmarinesuperstore.com lists prices on Merc's, a good place to get a comparison price.

The prices quoted from Boats.net are real. The catch is they can not ship their motors that are over 30 hp per agreement with Suzuki, they have to be picked up in Florida where their shop is.
