  • question about flushing motors

I just purchased a boat with twin 2007 DF300 outboards. I did not get an owners manual. When I tried to flush the motors using the hose input on the boat side of the motors one motor flushed properly the other would not allow the water to flow. If I moved the hose to the other input on the propeller side of the motor it flushed properly. I would like to be able to flush both motors from the boat side. Is there something I need to do to make it work?

Sounds strange to me that the front flush ports wouldn't work on the one motor. I don't know anything about the 300s, but I'm responding only to make sure that you know (not having a manual available) not to use those upper flush ports with the motors running. Those ports are for flushing only with the motors off. The only way to flush a Suzuki with the motor running (and the way recommended by Suzuki) is with a hose attached to muffs on the water intakes. Hope someone else can help with your specific situation.

Mike, thank you. I am aware the you don't flush with the motors running. I was just wondering if there was a plug or something that needed to be removed.

can only suggest taking the cowling off and check the connection
I have a 175 but ..from memory.. there is a hose from the front flush port to the engine
could be plugged it if had not been used regulary
