2000 dt200 drive shaft grommet

193.jpgHi. I put a new water pump in my dt200. When i took it apart, the drive shaft grommet came out in pieces. I was not able to see how the new grommet installs. Obviously it slides onto the shaft, but where does it sit, and how does the spring clip fit? The grommet itself fits loosely on the shaft, and that to me doesn't seem right.

I'm dying here!! I haven't fished in three weeks. I'm just going to put it back together and hope for the best. I did want to say thank you again for the info last time i posted about a bad stator. Especially to solarman. After the fix, it ran great!!

Sorry ollies, been tied down with some renovations on my property.

I see your grommet, and don't know where it goes. I've not had one come apart, or needed to replace one. Am thinking it goes into the midsection, but to put one in? It might require the midsection to be disas-sembled? You may need to look at parts diagram, and service manual in the section that gives information on rebuilding the midsection.

Thanks for the "get- back" solarman. The more i look at the manual, and the actual parts, there's only really one way it can go back together. I'm going to try it, run it on the muffs, and then take it apart again and see how it looks. I gotta go fishin soon!!!!
