  • Suzuki DT 100 early 90's

The motor starts and idles great. When the throttle lever is pushed, it begins to increase in rpm's and accelerate the boat as it should. However, once it hits high rpm's it "bogs down" to only a crawl. At this point the console/throttle lever is emitting a beep every few seconds in regular intervals. I have heard this reaction is a safety feature. What is wrong and how do I fix it. I have had it at a suzuki dealer for repair and they refuse to work on it anymore. They claim it is not worth their while as parts are hard to find.

It sounds like the beeping is indicating a warning. Possibly overheating, or low oil flow.
Does your motor have a monitor gauge? If so, are any lights flashing (they used two sets of flashes, then it would repeat.).
What are the RPMs at max, and what RPMs does it drop down to?

    Post back when able.
