Gear seizing when engine warms up.

I have a Suzuki 4 HP and for some reason after a running time of approximately 5mins the gears seize and engine sticks in neutral.
Does anyone have any experience of this that could help.

What year is it?
Is this a 4 stroke?
When was the last time the gear oil was looked at, or changed?

The oil is fresh & it is a 4 stroke 2002

Ok, and if the motor is in forward, or reverse gear when it seizes up, the motor stalls out, or kicks itself into neutral, and stays running, but it won't shift back into gear?

I am trying to understand what is happening, and how/ why you think that the gears seize up? The sequence of exactly what happens may tell us something different. It could help us/ show us exactly what is going on?
