Aloha from Hawaii. I have an unusual problem with one of my DF 70 outboards. If the motor sits for several days, it won't start up. It won't even try to fire up. If I spray ether (starting fluid) in a couple of cylinders, it will cough a couple of times and start up. It will easily start up again and again after that. A couple of days later, same problem. This has been going on for a while. I just replaced the plugs and battery. Same thing. Any Ideas?

What year is the motor?
does this motor have carbs or the efi system?
Have you checked/ cleaned/ replaced fuel filters, fuel lines, or anything else?
Is the fuel filter on side of motor full of fuel, or does it have air in it?
Does fuel bulb pump up hard (may have a bad check valve allowing fuel to fall back to tank, and not pumping up when squeezed)?
These things could help if you can give a little more info? Good luck.
