Update time:
As an answer to my own question in the last reply, I learned the Suzuki props don't have plugs available as they are not intended to be plugged. So there is that.
So I finally installed my new (to me) Suzuki SS 14x18 prop, and tested it at the same time I was testing my engine holder replacement.
Pros:
Cons:
I actually looked down at one point and swear the tach was showing 6400-6500 RPM, and was surprised the rev limiter had not kicked in. Either the tach isn't exactly accurate or something else is amiss, but I'm going to need to keep an eye on that.

Pros:
- great holeshot, better than ever before
- throttle response is great throughout the entire RPM range
- motor is finally spinning up over 6000 RPM again, compared to being limited to ~5600 RPM with my last prop
Cons:
- lost some top end - able to hit about 36mph, compared to 38-40 I hit with other props
- it will actually over-rev now - full fuel and 2 people on board, full throttle pushes the tach past 6200-6300 RPM
- because of the shift in the power band, to cruise at my preferred smooth water cruise speed of ~30mph, I've got to spin it up to 5000-5200 RPM - in theory this shouldn't be a problem, but I still don't like the idea of running it that hard for extended times like a two-hour trip in the intracoastal
- if my #s are right, I feel like I have too much slip - 19% at cruise and max speed - I'll confirm the #s again this weekend, and actually write them down this time. And if they are right, I feel like I'm still missing something.
