Suzuki Team Members,
I am in the process of painting my 2002 DF 70hp. The motor is off the boat. I took off the tilt and trim components and got down to the swivel bracket. I see the bracket is connected to the midsection on the motor by 2 lower studs with washers and nuts and by two upper studs with nuts that looks to be connected to the power head. I was able to remove the two lower nuts, but I am having problems trying to remove the two upper nuts. Currently the nuts are frozen on the studs and the stud and the nut are spinning without backing out. When I go to tighten the stud back in, it just continues to spin and does not tighten down. To turn the nut and stud is quite difficult. It does not just spin freely. I also noticed that behind the bracket, it seems there is some type of rubber bushing. I am afraid that I have sheared off the stud, but then wouldn't the bracket come off?? I need help see pictures for details..
