  • How to disconnect interface on df115

My 2002 DF115 has developed the safe mode syndrome that Moonlighter has succinctly described and diagnosed. Is there a diagram that would help me figure out how to disconnect the power wire supplying the 12 volt to the interface that comes from the SDS port? I can't figure out on mine where that SDS port is! I'd appreciate any help or tips! Thanks!

Email sent to you with instructions. Let me know if you don't get it.

Here is a photo looking at the port side of the engine, the White plug is the SDS port connected to the interface cable. The orange and yellow group of wires on the right side go to the ECU. The interface cable is on the left side.

If there was no interface connected to the SDS plug, it would sit snugly on top of the fuse box in a little rubber holder.

To avoid any confusion, the SDS port is simply the same plug that the Suzuki technician connects their laptop to when the service the engine. "SDS" is the acronym for Suzuki Diagnostic System".

    Cheers

Thank you so much for your quick response, Moonlighter. I am sending you a photo of the port side of the DF115. It's a 2002 and I am wondering if you could point out the Interface Cable and where the red power wire on this model would be. We do have analog and not digital gauges--thanks so much for all your help!

        Emailed a reply to you.

It doesn't look like you've got a N2K network installed, so the interface wiring change that I told you about won't apply. I think your issue may be related to the cracked temp sensor.

Failing that, I'd suggest a visit to a Suzuki mechanic who has, and is expert in, the Suzuki SDS diagnostic system will be necessary.

Thanks so much, Moonlighter, for your help. I am going to try the sensor and hoping it's the culprit. Thanks again--I really appreciate your prompt replies and guidance. Maybe we'll get this old boat to work yet!
