  • DT225 Compression level 100 PSI ?

2003 DT225 compression PSI 100 in all cylinders. Mechanic says this is too low and I need a new outboard. He states it should be at least 150. Your thoughts

Did mine 2 years ago 2003 DT225 around 450 hours when tested one cyl was 115, three were at 120 and two were 125...did he do it correctly the throttle must be wide open and all the other cyls must have at least 1 plug out. Its odd to have all cyls low and exactly the same. Was this test done for a reason or just a "check up"..its also better to have the engine warmed up..dead cold will not be accurate. No two stroke will give 150 compression

      100 PSI compression

I did it because the engine is running rough. I think its the Throttle Position Sensor since it goes fine in reverse but boogs down in forward. Gas, plugs, filters all replaced

I did not have the throttle open or one plug out of the other cylinders. The engine was warm. I'll recheck after I look at the TPS. Thanks
