I have a 2011 DF90 with 100 hours, fresh water use only. I use only 100% pure gas. Recently, the engine is running very rough. When I throttle forward, it seems to misfire, or acts like there is water in the gas. I put a can of Seafoam in the tank (30 gal) when I filled up last month. When this problem started last week, thinking it may be water, I put 2 cans of Heet in and ran it full throttle. The RPM surged high, dropped back, surged again, etc. It finally began to plane off, but would not go to it's full normal RPM. I pulled the fuel filter and was careful not to spill the gas until I could get it over a glass. Once emptied, no water or dirt was seen. Does each cylinder have it's own coil? I am going to put on a 10 micron fuel-water separator to see if water is the problem, but at this point, I am beginning to think electrical. What are my options?
