2006 DF90 high pressure fuel pump

Should I be able to connect the H.Pressure fuel pump to a battery and hear it run?

Yes, but more information would be handy.

I was not getting any fuel to the delivery pipe at the injectors but had fuel in the vapor seperator so I took everything apart and tried to run the H.P. fuel pump by connecting two wires to the plug and then to a battery just quickly touching them to the battery post.

Make sure the filter in the bottom of the vst is not blocked.

I read it on the internet (so it has to be true) that the HP fuel pump in these engines rarely fail, but the VST filter gets clogged often with bad/old fuel.

Thanks everyone. My engine has not been run for awhile so I think the fuel pump is locked up. The filter looked a little rough but I can't hear the pump run at all on the bench hooked up to a battery. I'm going to order the parts and see if that will get me going.
