I have a 1987 and a 1994 DT65. The 87 is have a problem getting on plane. When the motor has been at idle for a minute or two and you accelerate it is slow to push the boat on plane and once on plane the motor runs rough. If you crank the motor and immediately push the throttle to wide open it will jump out of the hole and the motor sounds great, but only for 15 to 20 seconds. Then it is back to running rough and slows down. I have cleaned and replaced most of the file lines and carburetors multiple times and think it might be something to do with the spark plugs/power pack. I was wondering if the 94 power pack could go on the 87? They look very similar. Any advice would be great.
