I have owned a Suzuki 2005 DF4 for 10 years. It has essentially never idled well. High RPM usually works well. Occasionally it will idle well but then it will sink gradually into a period where it slowly dies as it spits gasoline from under the cowling. After fighting it for an hour by restarting it every 30 seconds (as you are trying to fish), it will then idle well for about 15 minutes. It will then haunt you again in a vicious and taunting cycle that prompts conversion of the motor to an anchor. It has been to the dealer in Missouri twice and to an independent mechanic in Canada five times and once to a dealer in Oklahoma that my brother found who said he "knew" the problem. After this last dealer worked on it, it would only barely run on partial choke-->put it in the shed. Most people say "the float is sticking," but it seems no amount of repair/replacement helps. I am contemplating spending the $136.08 for a complete new carburetor. Any thoughts?
