  • DT75 dead

I've got a Suzuki DT75 that for some reason simply stopped working. It won't start, and the electric trim/tilt won't operate either. It's got a new, fully charged marine battery and this has never happened to it before. I hadn't used it for a few months, and when I went to start it the battery power was to low to successfully start it. After taking the battery out, charging it and putting it back in it simply doesn't respond any more. Occasionally I hear a slight click when trying to lower the engine (it's got tilt/trim controls on both the remote and the engine itself), but that's it. I don't think the key ever had to be in it to operate the trim/tilt - so long as it had a battery it would work. But not now. Any ideas?

Any help would be fantastic. I actually want to sell it, but won't get jack for it if the outboard doesn't work ;-)

Check the battery cables. Corrosion inside them is a fair to strong possibility. Take them off and give them a bit of a flex and a bend, if you hear anything crunchy in there........ New cables!

      Trim/tilt..
if it is the switch on the side of the motor.. it is a battery connection problem
      get that working first...
if it only from the remote control/key then it is a another different problem

Chikoo, posting old messages can help us understand a little, but Ozzie may not be around anymore.
If having problems tell us what they are, and what you've done, info on your particular motor, and let us try to help. Every problem is unique, though sometimes they seen similar.

Post back if interested. Good luck.
