  • Replacing DF300T with DF300A

I'm thinking of replacing my DF300T series with a newer DF300A series motor.

What I am wondering is if I can use the rigging I have (for the DF300T) with the DF300A, i.e., the wiring harness, throttle/shift control, BCM, 4" SMIS gauges, etc?

Anyone knowledgeable with such a swap?

Might help to know the year of the T, and newer A model? Those that know your harness and gauges might need to know?

      2007 DF300T.

2013 or so DF300A. They don't go by year, only serial number, which is the 30002P-21xxxx range.

Is the new 300A a drive-by-wire model? If so, the answer to your question is likely, "No," at least as to the throttle and shift mechanism.

          Both models are fly-by-wire.

So I'll answer my own question which I got from a Suzuki dealer.

Yes, you can use the same fly-by-wire controls, but the BCM needs to have a software upgrade.

Well....good to know. I had no idea that the '07 model 300T was fly-by-wire.
