Do parts for 1996 DT15 fit a 1986 DT15. Referring to drive shaft and gear box. Looking for a drive shaft and gears for a DT15 serial# 01501-719275.

Well I don't really know. Many parts are used on different motors for many years unless there were problems that caused changes.
You can look up the part nos. for some of the major parts (housing, drive shaft, shift linkage, etc.), and for each item click the part no., and it should (usually) show you the years, and different motors those parts were used on.
