Timmo, you should tighten enough so there is no movement on the shaft forward, or backward, and far enough for the cotter pin to go through the nut and hole in the shaft. No need to tighten excessively, but you don't want the prop to slide on the shaft, once tight enough, the legs of the cotter pin are bent to prevent the nut from coming off until the cotter pin is bent and removed. Always use a new cotter pin to lock the nut in place. Re using cotter pins can cause you to loose your prop.
If you need to torque your prop nut, then you should buy the manual for your motor. It would have those numbers for your motor.
