Are any one using synthetic marine oil. I've got a brand new df90a bolted, and my first service is at 20 hours I was thinking of switching to synthetic after 20 hour service. What are the tolerances on this outboard, say to a car, would the rings be seating good at the 20 hours. Any help would be great. cheer's

My local dealer now exclusively uses Suzuki synthetic blend. Made by Motul for Suzuki. Thats what goes in all his motors from new.

Things have changed over the years. Even a lot of auto engines are broken in with synth anymore. As Moonlighter pointed out, your outbaord has had the Suzuki synth blend in it all along, so switching to full synth should be fine. I run Amsoil fluids in my DF150, and have since the first oil change.Mike
