DF140 Tilt and Back and Forth arms oil question...

Have some very fine oil surrounding one of the arms. Is this normal?

If not what is the likely culprit?

Are you referring to the rams that lift the motor? How much oil are we talking about here.....does it drip? Or does it just seem to be a "thin film" as you call it? I put a little waterproof grease on my rams periodically just as protection from the saltwater, but if you thing there's enough oil on the ram to be of concern, then you're probably starting to lose an o-ring seal at the ram cylinder. Check the level of oil in the PTT reservoir and make sure it is topped off, and check the level periodically to ascertain whether or not you have a problem.

Yes I was referring to the two rams that lift the motor.

It does seem to be a very thin film, which certainly isn't dripping. Will check the oil levels.
