I need to remove my DF70 but am unsure of where the lifting rings are on the motor. There are rings one on each side but I seem to remember that these are for lifting curtain parts of the engine. Anyone know?

There are 2 rings, one on top of the intake, and one attached to the exhaust manifold. These are used to lift the complete engine. According to the service manual, when lifting just the block (disassembled) you attach an extra lifting ring to the block to lift it. I used both when I lifted my motor.
