Is it important for the rubber cap that covers the end of the main nozzle inside the carburetor to seal completely. Even new ones do not seem to fit that tight. If the cap leaks what type of problems will this cause?

DT30 Carb Question

Gas flows from the float bowl thru the main jet up into the main nozzle into the throat of the carburetor beyond the butterflies. On the Mikuni carburetor as used on the DT30 the main nozzle is located in the center of the body and the main jet is on the side of the part of the carburetor body that holds the main nozzle. A rubber cap is used to seal the end of the bore where the maim nozzle goes. I assume that if the cap dies not seal fuel will bypass the main jet wreaking havoc on performance. I have ordered new parts but would love to hear what experience others have had with this and if anything can be done to improve the seal of the caps.
