  • DT-75 ran without fuel in one cylinder

hello, evidently i had a needle stuck in the top carb and was running without fuel in that cylinder. engine ran reasonably smooth but i was lacking some power. pulled the plugs out and noticed #1 was clean. a touch of carbon on the tip of the ground strap and a touch of 2 stroke oil on the top thread. insulator bright white clean. ran about 20 gallons of fuel thru engine in this condition. to my surpise it appears the cylinder was adequately lubricated by the oil injection system. not sure about the condition of the crank bearings though. any thoughts on this?

This is a good example of why to keep the reliable suzuki oil injection system.

probably o.k. The oil is injected thru a discharge tube just inside the case (on my dt 115) so all the carb has to do is to have butterfly open to let in airflow which will carry this oil on its merry way. Take off a carb and you will see this tube ( or look at a diagram). Amen to the judgement of the Suzuki system, they sure made omc and merc sit up and take notice!
