loss of oil

I'm losing oil and don't know where its going , can't see any oil on motor or around motor. Hope its not a seal . Motor is 175hp 2006 with 250hrs

Do the basics: Check the compression on all cylinders and report back with results.

While you are there look at the plugs as they come out for evidence of oil, excess fuel, water, and consistent color.

John. I have same motor. -same problem
Use the advanced search function for loss of oil to find my post and long string of events
Still fighting problem
There was a fairly new thread where someone was losing about a quart per 15 gallons of fuel. And found it was a valve seal
I am using a quart for 35-40 gallons and now have 500+ hours
Just have not torn motor down yet

don't overlook the exhaust, pass your fingers in the prop openings and smell it for oil residue

even though you don't see smoke it could be atomized in the exhaust gas
