I own a 2003 Suzuki 140hp outboard. Recently my engine will start fine, but after fishing in one spot it will not want to start. If I wait 20 to 30 minutes, it will then start with no issues. This does not happen everytime I go out fishing. I have owned this engine for 9 years with no problems. I have already checked my gasoline and fuel line. Any ideas as to what could be causing this issue?

only a blocked vent on tank comes to mind
sounds like it gas starved sucking in just enough gas to stay running but when shut down its in a vacuum so it cant suck enough gas to refill the bowl to start.
after the 20-30 minutes it equalizes pressure so it can suck in gas to restart
try it with the gas cap off and see if it restartsLast edited by keakar; 08-17-2014, 12:25 PM.
